Jurgen Klopp has the chance to get Jose Mourinho sacked at Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp may not have managed a win in his first two Premier League games in charge of Liverpool, but one in his third, at Chelsea next week, could see Jose Mourinho sacked.

Mourinho, whose team lost their fifth league game in their last 10, is on the brink of leaving Stamford Bridge according to Monday’s papers.

The Portuguese coach refused to speak to the media after the 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday, being the petulant schoolboy he is. The match saw five of his players booked and Nemanja Matic sent off.

The Guardian report: “Roman Abramovich is unlikely to be impressed by an increasingly toxic situation and the sense is growing that too many of Chelsea’s players are not behind Mourinho, who will be under immense pressure if Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool win at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.”

The Daily Mail claim Chelsea are planning for Mourinho’s exit, saying: “A defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side on Saturday would likely spell the end of his second spell at Stamford Bridge.”

The Express report similarly: “A bad defeat against Jurgen Klopp‘s Liverpool would be a blow which the Special One would not be expected to survive after the club’s worst start to a Premier League season.”

In their last 6 visits to Stamford Bridge, Liverpool have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2, their last Premier League win there was November 2011 under Kenny Dalglish.
