Liverpool can expected an high-intensity brand of football if Jurgen Klopp is appointed manager, as his explanation of his philosophy proves.

Speaking to BBC Sport during his time with Borussia Dortmund, Klopp described his footballing philosophy, saying “we want to enjoy our own game.”
“I’ve watched so many matches in my life,” he said.
“There are some boring games, then I sleep. It’s so boring, I think ‘why?’.
“There’s 20, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80,000 people in a stadium when it’s a boring game – it’s not okay!
“So that’s what we want to see, we want to enjoy our own game.
“Tactical things are so important – you cannot win without tactical things – but the emotion makes the difference.”
At Dortmund, Klopp employed a high-intensity style of football known as gegenpressing, with constant pressure off the ball paired with pace and technical ability in attack.
This philosophy would suit Liverpool perfectly, and Klopp should enjoy the English game, too.
“Fighting football – that is what I like,” he told the Telegraph in 2013.
“What we call in German – English [football]…rainy day, heavy pitch, everybody is dirty in the face and they go home and can’t play football for the next four weeks.”
Klopp’s views on football are very much aligned with those of the Liverpool tradition, and the German could look to restore the club’s former glory.
