Rodgers fielded questions on the Raheem Sterling transfer and the appointment of Sean O’Driscoll as his new assistant manager, among others.
On Sterling, Rodgers said:
“Contrary to probably the last week or so, in terms of what was written, Raheem and I have always remained very strong in our relationship and have been right up until we left.
On O’Driscoll, Rodgers said:
“I’ve known Sean a long time, and played against his teams. He’s someone I respect and admire…I just wanted to take the team in a different direction, and both Pep [Lijnders] and Gary McAllister, as well as Sean, can help me move the team in that different direction.”
