Liverpool have completed a move for England Under-21 striker Danny Ings, and we look at the best social media reaction surrounding the news.
The Reds have officially signed the 22-year-old, with news breaking on Monday morning that he had sealed a free transfer to Anfield, subject to a medical. Like James Milner, he will become a Liverpool player on 1st July.
Ings enjoyed an impressive season at Premier League strugglers Burnley in 2014/15, scoring 11 of his side’s 28 goals and often looking like their only genuine attacking threat.

The Englishman is a player with good pace, clever movement and an eye for goal, and represents a definite upgrade on the likes of Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert.
Here is the best social media reaction to the news of Ings’ signing:
Burnley and Liverpool still in talks over a fee & are hopeful of reaching an agreement without the need for a Premier League tribunal.

Danny Ings will join @LFC on July 1 after agreeing personal terms. Compensation is yet to be agreed between @LFC and @BurnleyOfficial

If he can deliver HALF of that for us next season… https://t.co/EGbseCYFIV

One thing which I love about Ings, he does a ton for charity. This is a really touching photo. pic.twitter.com/MHTMJOTIPN

‘Zinedine Biscan’ on the forum:
Well, it’s done. Can’t say it’s one I’m particularly excited about, but let’s hope he’s amazing. I just have a feeling we’ll see a loan in his future 12 months down the line.
Welcome to Liverpool, @IngsDanny.

Ings will offer much more of a goalscoring threat than Borini and Lambert, trust me. #LFC

Ings for Borini/Origi for Lambert are upgrades (retains UEFA association-trained player). With Mario replacement, all also see FFP profit.

Ya'll can moan all you want about Danny Ings but the fact remains he was better last season than the shit we had on the bench. #SquadPlayer

‘RazvanLFC’ on the forum:
If Ings is signed in place of borini and we still buy that great new striker then I’m fine with it.
Not convinced by Ings at all, only upside is that he's got resale value when #LFC decide to sell him next summer.

Danny Ings scored 11 goals in the Premier League this term, more than Liverpool's four senior strikers combined (8). pic.twitter.com/HL9OMs20Xh

Liverpool had wanted to pay around £5m compensation, but Burnley want more because Spurs were willing to pay £12m for Ings.

‘Hope in your heart’ on the forum:
My question on this move would be: what does he offer us what we don’t already have, apart from being English? I for one can’t see what he offers us more than Borini for instance.
Think Ings has something about him, just not sure how sitting on our bench gets it out of him mind you.
