Liverpool and Everton contested a forgettable 0-0 draw on Saturday, and we look at how those associated with the Reds reacted on social media.
In truth, it was one of the least entertaining Merseyside derbies in a long time – the first 0-0 at Goodison since 2000 and a far cry from last season’s 3-3. Chances were few and far between, the Goodison Park atmosphere was flat and the quality from both sides was lacking.
Jordon Ibe put in n impressive showing having been a surprise inclusion in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven and almost scored a memorable goal after his stunning first-half strike came back off the post in the early stages. That was the closest either side came to scoring.

The likes of Emre Can and Martin Skrtel impressed at the back, but the majority of Liverpool players struggled to find their best form.
The result leaves the Reds seventh in the Premier League, six points off Southampton in third, four behind Manchester United and Tottenham and just three adrift of Arsenal.
Here is how twitter reacted to the derby showdown.
Huge day in the blossoming career of young Jordon Ibe who starts in the Merseyside derby at Goodison. #LFC

Liverpool need less elaboration in the final third. Everton need (mainly Lukaku) to stop straying offside.

Poor game terrible atmosphere what a missed opportunity

Poor performance from players too. Weren't at their best. Didn't help by those subs. Too much sentiment from Rodgers #lambert #gerrard

Brendan Rodgers: "I thought we were outstanding."

Frustrating not to turn that one into a win particularly after the earlier results. Spurs game takes on even greater significance now. If Liverpool have any designs on Top 4 that is now a must win game against an in form side. Positive is that clean sheets are starting to mount up now, 4 in a row in the league.
Hate to be a knee-jerk, but Coutinho getting subbed has completely thrown #LFC 's game off.

Remember when Benitez subbed a prime era Gerrard in a derby? Because he had no room for sentiment and played the match itself.

Brendan Rodgers is now unbeaten in all six Merseyside derbies whilst with LFC, but only has one win (2-2, 0-0, 3-3, 4-0, 1-1, 0-0)

4 clean sheets in a row. What a save that was from Migs. Went off Sahkos knee and all. Looks like Rodgers dropping him has paid off. Super excited for Ibe. Between him and Markovic we have something out there. Once Coutinho came off we really lost our creativity. Sterling was rather poor and Henderson was a passenger even though he tracked back nicely. Can and Skrtel were boss. Can’t lose vs Spurs and a draw does little as well.
Credit where it's due, Simon Mignolet seems to have finally taken it all in his stride and growing into the mold of a #LFC keeper.

870 minutes since Liverpool last conceded an open play goal in any competition, 390 minutes since Liverpool last conceded any PL goal.

This match may not have had much, but at the very least it had a centre-back making fun of a striker for whom Everton paid £28m. #lfc

Longest streak without conceding prior to the current one since Rodgers became manager was 272 minutes, at the start of last season btw

Since when did a 4th round replay at Bolton become more important than a place in the CL? Ridiculous squad management over the 2 games!!!!
