Liverpool fans have taken to social media to breathe a unanimous sigh of disbelief after it emerged Daniel Sturridge has suffered yet another injury in training.
Sturridge was just days away from returning to action for the first time since August, but pulled out of a training session on Tuesday nursing a thigh problem.
The 25-year-old was originally sidelined after suffering a thigh strain during England training at the start of September.
His expected return at the end of October was delayed after another injury and now Liverpool are waiting upon a fresh scan on his thigh to determine the extent of his absence.
Should the forward face further time out of action, it will come as a devastating blow to Liverpool’s season.
Sturridge had been expected to partner summer signing Mario Balotelli up front for only the second time when the Reds go to Crystal Palace this Sunday in the Premier League.
Here we round up a selection of reactions to the news from Liverpool fans. Let us know your thoughts and how it could potentially effect the Reds’ festive run-in in the comments below.

You’ve got to laugh or you’d cry, Rodgers will really need to earn his keep now because if we play the same way we’ve currently been playing since the last time Sturridge played (Spurs away) we could be edging closer to bottom 4 rather than top.
#LFC without Sturridge this season: 8 points from 8 games and just 8 goals scored. That's borderline relegation form.

When it rains it pours. Truly devastating news, when will we see him back? Just emphasises even more how we should have learned how to play as a team without him though.
Can we at least try Sterling as a striker now? What's the worst that can happen. We have to change something, one upfront does not work.

Sturridge limped out of training earlier today apparently. Same thigh. Sigh.

Imagine thinking FSG are going to dip into their pockets further after spending £100m in the Summer.
— Chris Dickinson (@LFCDickinson) November 18, 2014
Imagine spending £120m in 1 transfer window and being completely dependent on 1 injury prone centre forward to play well

Sturridge or no Sturridge. We should be beating West Ham, Villa, Newcastle. We should be winning our next 4 games. That's down to Rodgers.
