Wrexham thank generous Liverpool

Wrexham box Denis Smith has thanked Liverpool Football Club for the way they have helped save their once financially crippled club from administration.

Liverpool have found ways to save the North Wales club including waiving their share of ticket profit at friendly games between the clubs, including the Reds’ 2-0 victory over the League Two side on Saturday.

Liverpool have also hired out the Racecourse Ground for Liverpool Reserves games, helping the club raise funds. They now expect to be out of administration and under new ownership in the next few days.

Smith says, “Liverpool have been absolutely magnificent to this football club since we’ve been in trouble.

“We could not have asked for better from a Premiership side who have shown that they care about football in general, not just about themselves. They have kept us afloat.”
