Jurgen Klopp urged his side to focus ahead of the first Merseyside derby of the season, as Liverpool host Everton at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Reds stay on home turf after their close-run 2-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday, for their first of two meetings with the Blues in just over a month.
Sitting eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, Liverpool are heavy favourites to seal a 14th win in 15th games so far, against a side 26 points below them in 17th.
There is considerable pressure on Marco Silva, who has overseen just four wins in the league this season, but Klopp is expecting a motivated Everton.
“The table tells the full truth at the end of the season, not in these early stages,” he told reporters.
“Come on, if you go through the Everton squad you would say that’s a really good squad, nobody denies that—not Marco, not nobody.
“Why it’s quite clicking 100 percent so far, I don’t know really.
“A few really difficult injuries, especially the [Andre] Gomes one, it’s really difficult, Delph was injured, maybe back but a very, very important player for them as well, so that’s how it is.
“Then if you don’t have a positive run—it might not even be a negative run—these kinds of things can always happen.
“A lot of pressure, obviously. Everton is a very ambitious club, rightly so, and if it doesn’t go the right way the pressure increases pretty quick, that’s the situation.
“But they are not the only ones in this situation. This league is really difficult for all of us.”
Klopp also provided an update on a long-term knee injury for Joel Matip, gave his thoughts on Lionel Messi beating Virgil van Dijk to the Ballon d’Or and reacted to drawing Everton in the third round of the FA Cup.
Victory on Wednesday night will at least maintain the eight-point gap between Liverpool and Leicester, while defeat for Everton could see them sink into the relegation zone.
