* Option of another year
On Friday, Klopp delivered the surprise news that Alexander-Arnold is “really close” to returning from a knee injury that was expected to keep him out for up to a month.
It remains to be seen whether he features for Liverpool in Saturday’s home clash with Crystal Palace, with James Milner available to fill in, along with the likes of Fabinho, Rafa Camacho and Ki-Jana Hoever.
But regardless, the announcement of his new deal is a major positive, with the youngster staying with his boyhood club until at least his 25th birthday.
