“Part of our identity” – Liverpool supporters react to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s new contract

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new five-year deal with the Reds, prompting supporters to hail the club’s swift work.

Alexander-Arnold’s last extension came in November, but a rise through the ranks under Jurgen Klopp has spurred an improve contract for the youngster.

Now set to challenge Nathaniel Clyne for a starting berth in 2017/18, Alexander-Arnold has established himself as a long-term option on Merseyside.

As the 18th local player to debut for Liverpool since Steven Gerrard, the West Derby native is arguably the most likely to distinguish himself at Anfield, with his new deal compounding this.

Already a popular figure at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold took to Twitter to express his delight at securing a longer stay on Friday night:

And congratulating the youngster, supporters and officials alike followed suit to praise a player who is knitted into the fabric of the club:
