The date for the Community Shield between Manchester City and Liverpool has finally been confirmed by the FA.
Despite knowing the teams involved being confirmed weeks ago, the Football Association had until now been unable to confirm the date for English football’s curtain raiser.
There had been rumours that the match would take place on Thursday, August 1 but today’s news dispells those predictions.
We now know that the match between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola’s sides will take place at Wembley on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Kick off will be 3pm.
