Liverpool ended their season with a 2-0 win over Wolves, leaving fans feeling nothing but pride despite ending the Premier League campaign without a title.
Liverpool 2-0 Wolves
Premier League, Anfield
May 12, 2019
Goals: Mane 17′, 81′
The Reds returned to Anfield on the final day of the league season with the fate of the title still in the balance, and Jurgen Klopp‘s men held up their end of the bargain.
Sadio Mane got Liverpool off to a flying start after hitting home from a Trent Alexander-Arnold delivery, before Wolves started to grow in confidence as the first half came to a close.
But it was Liverpool who found the net once more late in the second as Mane was again the man on the scoresheet to secure the Reds’ 30th win of the Premier League season.
The result sees Liverpool finish the season as runners up with an astonishing 97 points, but now attention will turn to the Champions League final on June 1.
Here’s how supporters reacted to the result on Facebook, Twitter and on our forums.

There was an overwhelming feeling of pride for the Reds at the final whistle…
Don’t tell me that finishing second makes this Premier League season meaningless. To the last day, they’ve have been fantastic and gave us a reason to believe. Think about where we were when Klopp took over.
I fucking love this team. UP THE FUCKING REDS!!! ?????
— Adam Rowe (@adamrowecomedy) May 12, 2019
97 points. Lost one game by a millimeter against the best team in history. More points than United have ever had in their history. I mean. You have to laugh really. What a manager and team. Heroes.

? When the fixtures came out last summer you’d have been a dreamer if you’d said Anfield would be waving the #LFC players off today to a second consecutive Champions League final after finishing second in the league with 97 points and one defeat. Phenomenal season. ?

What a season, what a team. 97 points, just 1 defeat. A phenomenal campaign- they did all they could. Should be immensely proud, despite the hurt. They'll be right back up there again next season. Now on to Madrid.
