Jurgen Klopp has made four changes to his Liverpool lineup, as they look to overturn a significant deficit and book their place in the Champions League final.
The Reds have it all to do tonight at Anfield, having lost 3-0 in the first leg, needing to score four and concede none against one of the most prolific sides in Europe.
Only Liverpool (87), Man City (90) and Paris Saint-Germain (98) have scored more goals in the continent’s top five leagues this season than Barca (86), and no player has netted more than Lionel Messi (34).
And with a final-day Premier League decider against Wolves looming, Klopp has been forced to contend with a host of key injuries, naming a strong side regardless.
Alisson remains in goal, looking to help pull another remarkable comeback over Barca after keeping a clean sheet as AS Roma won 3-0 in their quarter-final second leg last season to win on away goals.
Ahead of the Brazilian are Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
And in midfield, Fabinho takes up duties in the deepest role, joined by Jordan Henderson and James Milner.
Without Mohamed Salah (concussion) and Roberto Firmino (adductor) in attack, Klopp has opted for Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi alongside Sadio Mane.
Missing two of the club’s top three goalscorers is a big blow, but as Trent told reporters on Monday, “it also presents an opportunity for some of the other players to come in and make a name for themselves and make themselves heroes.”
Rhian Brewster and Ben Woodburn have both been named on the substitutes’ bench, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain missing out due to a slight muscle strain.
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Milner; Shaqiri, Origi, Mane
Substitutes: Mignolet, Lovren, Gomez, Wijnaldum, Woodburn, Sturridge, Brewster
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Vidal; Messi, Coutinho, Suarez
Substitutes: Cillessen, Semedo, Umtiti, Vermaelen, Arthur, Alena, Malcom
