Liverpool FC launch new 2019/20 home kit dedicated to Bob Paisley

Liverpool FC have revealed their new home kit for next season, with its design paying homage to the Reds’ most successful manager, Bob Paisley OBE.

The shirt is a tribute in the year in which ‘Sir Bob’ would have turned 100 and the long-lasting legacy he left at the club.

Each jersey has been inscribed with Paisley’s iconic signature on the inside of the neck, and also features an official swing tag dedicated to the legend.

The kit features white pinstripes on the front of the shirt, inspired by LFC’s kit of 1982/83 when Paisley was at the helm and led the team to their 13th league title.

Delighted Liverpool players (from left) Graham Souness, Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen celebrate with the Milk Cup trophy after they defeated Manchester United 2-1 in extra time at Wembley. It was Liverpool's third successive triumph in the competition, giving manager Bob Paisley a winning farewell to Wembley etires at the end of the season.

The kit is manufactured by New Balance for the fifth but likely final time, with this being the final year of their current contract with Liverpool.

New Balance have retained the popular ‘Red Pepper’ colour-way for the coming season, which was also a feature of the 82/83 kit.

As ever, to commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblem, encased by the eternal flames sits at the nape of the neck.

Hopefully, fans will also be able to get the kit with the gold ‘Champions’ Premier League logo.

Captain Jordan Henderson described the kit as “incredibly strong.”

“I’m really looking forward to wearing it every time we play at our beloved home of Anfield, as a symbol of the pride and passion you have when you’re a Red,” he said.

“It’s also a really fitting tribute to one of our greatest managers and is a fantastic way to remember all his success.”
