Watch as Liverpool trio Divock Origi, Joe Gomez and Loris Karius joined The Redmen TV’s Paul Machin in a two-on-two clash on PES2017.
For most young footballers, the virtual side of the sport comes as second nature, with allegiances torn between FIFA and PES.
Most recently, Trent Alexander-Arnold received his own personalised FIFA Ultimate Team card, boosting his rating of 68 to 95.
But for Origi, Gomez and Karius this week, their focus was on Pro Evolution Soccer, as they took to the console alongside Machin at Melwood.
Origi and Gomez teamed up against Karius and Machin, with both pairs, predictably, choosing Liverpool, and all three making the cut for their respective sides.
With youth on their side, it was clear who had the edge throughout, with Origi and Gomez combining to devastating effect as they sealed the victory.
Karius, after putting himself between the sticks, endured some hairy moments at the back, including a shanked pass reminiscent of his bizarre goal kick against Sunderland in November.
“If you put the result aside, I think we’re the better players,” the goalkeeper joked—although it’s doubtful his manager would agree with that mindset!
