Liverpool are just one victory away from securing a Champions League place following an impressive 4-0 win over West Ham in London.
West Ham 0-4 Liverpool
Premier League, London Stadium
May 14, 2017
Goals: Sturridge 36′, Coutinho 58′ 62′, Origi 76′
Roberto Firmino was ruled out of the game through injury meaning there was a rare start for both Daniel Sturridge, joining Divock Origi up front.
Adam Lallana also returned to the starting XI as Jurgen Klopp named an attacking side in the hope of going one step further to securing a Champions League spot.
Liverpool had a sloppy start but they almost took the lead in the 11th minute when Joel Matip‘s header crashed against the underside of the cross-bar.
They did break the deadlock after half an hour though when Philippe Coutinho‘s through-ball picked out a superb run from Sturridge who made no mistake to put the Reds 1-0 up.
It was a nervy end to the first half as Andre Ayew missed a sitter when he hit the post twice from a yard out following a West Ham corner.
Liverpool made a brighter start in the second half and there were chances for Sturridge, Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum to double the lead.
Coutinho was the next player to get his name on the score-sheet though as he cooly slotted the ball home after Wijnaldum’s volley had crashed against the cross bar.
He then scored another just moments later as Liverpool’s dominance on the game unfolded. Origi posted a fourth goal for the Reds shortly afterwards and they secured a crucial victory.
Here are all the best reactions from Liverpool supporters on social media throughout the game.
There was plenty of interest in the starting line-up as Sturridge was given the nod…
Liverpool have had little chance to see what Divock Origi & Daniel Sturridge can do together. Today is a big day for them to come good. #LFC

Absolutely made up for Daniel Sturridge. Taken so much abuse from some 'fans' but has made LFC look so much more of a threat. Magnificent.

Phil and Sturridge will rightly get the plaudits for the win today but Emre Can once again put in a MOTM performance.
