Late goals from Divock Origi and James Milner saw Liverpool take an important 2-0 win away from their home clash with Sunderland.
Liverpool 2-0 Sunderland
Premier League, Anfield
November 26, 2016
Goals: Origi 75′, Milner (pen) 90+1′
Liverpool took on the relegation candidates on a frosty Saturday afternoon, looking to improve on the previous weekend’s 0-0 draw with Southampton.
It took a long time for the Reds to break the deadlock, and injury to Philippe Coutinho looked to put a considerable dampener of the fixture, but the Brazilian’s replacement, Origi, eventually beat the impressive Jordan Pickford on 75 minutes.
With a penalty from Milner sealing a 2-0 victory, the Reds extended their unbeaten Premier League run to 11 games, keeping up their challenge at the top of the table.
Here’s how supporters reacted to Liverpool’s latest triumph on social media.
After a slow start, Liverpool were a dealt a blow with Coutinho’s injury…

Big half for #LFC. There will be huge concern for Coutinho but task is to put it out of mind and try to create some clear cut chances.

Liverpool aren't going to steam roller everyone, but 45 minutes is a long time to find a breakthrough. Relax!

Anyone up for bringing Gerrard on last 10?
— John Gibbons (@johngibbonsblog) November 26, 2016
Roberto Firmino went close with a low-range shot after the interval…

Moyes has hidden it well but there's definitely a couple of windows open in that bus he drove here. Feels like #LFC are about to find one.

But with Anfield growing restless, Klopp called for a positive support…

Klopp has every right to have a go there. No positive noise has come from Anfield all day. Same on here. Negativity.

And he was rewarded as Divock Origi’s shot finally beat Jordan Pickford…
Get in! #LFC

And both the manager and his side were in for praise at full-time…
Great work from #LFC, kept plugging away and finally got the opener, kept their concentration and made it safe. 2-0, well deserved, top!

Fantastic win. Such a stressful game, felt like the 2nd leg in a cup knockout where we had to win to get through. Incredible atmosphere!

Far from pretty, but job done in the end. Great to see Origi get his goal. Fingers crossed the Coutinho injury isn't too serious. #LFC

Klopp was huge today. Whipped the crowd into a frenzy. A rocking Anfield makes such a difference in those types of games.
