Liverpool have put five past a plethora of sides in their time at Anfield in the Premier League, with this season’s triumph over Hull City the latest.
The Reds’ last home game saw them thrash newly promoted Hull courtesy of goals from Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and a brace of James Milner penalties.
It was a win that continued a fine run of form by Jurgen Klopp‘s side, preserved with a hard-fought victory away to Swansea City, ensuring they headed into the October international break fourth in the league table.
That win over Hull was just one of a number of times Liverpool have scored five times in a Premier League game at Anfield, as a video package released by the club showcased
Remarkably that emphatic triumph over the Tigers only scraped into the top 10, with 2002’s 5-0 victory over Ipswich Town, marked by two great goals from John Arne Riise, among those ranked higher.
Wins over Middlesbrough, Fulham, Leeds United, with the latter including a rare brace from Neil Ruddock, also featured.
Luis Suarez became synonymous with high-scoring victories during his time with the Reds, and his hat-trick in the 5-1 mauling over Norwich City in 2013 unsurprisingly made the top five.
The No. 1 spot was saved for another win from that 2013/14 season: 5-1 at home to Arsenal in 2014, a performance that will take some topping in the years to come at Anfield.
