Liverpool academy centre-back Lloyd Jones is set to be part of the summer’s loan exodus, joining Swindon Town on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old spent much of last season with Blackpool, but suffered a series of injuries that hampered his progress.
Returning to Merseyside to link up with Michael Beale’s under-23s side this summer, Jones has proved his fitness, and is now due for a move away from Anfield.
According to BBC Wiltshire Sport, Jones will complete a season-long loan move to League One outfit Swindon Town.
This will see Jones follow former academy team-mate Lawrence Vigouroux, with the Chilean goalkeeper joining the Robins on a permanent deal this summer after a successful loan in 2015/16.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has looked to utilise the loan market this summer to provide his young players with further experience.
Danny Ward, Ryan Fulton, Ryan Kent and Jack Dunn have all left the club on a temporary basis, with Jones, Allan Rodrigues, Cameron Brannagan and Jon Flanagan to follow suit in due course.
This allows Klopp to trim down his first-team squad, too, with the Reds not facing the demands of European football this season.
Liverpool suffered defeat in the Europa League final in May, with La Liga side Sevilla consigning them to a campaign without continental action.
This could work to give Klopp’s side an advantage in 2016/17, as they look for a streamlined assault on the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
Jones is unlikely to enjoy a future with the Reds beyond his spell with Swindon, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
