Danny Ward makes first Wales start in Euro 2016 clash against Slovakia

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward makes his first start for Wales in their Euro 2016 opening match against Slovakia (5pm BST kick off).

Ward, who has played twice as substitute for Chris Coleman’s side previously, comes into the side due to first-choice keeper Wayne Hennessey suffering a back injury.

Wales: Ward; Gunter, Chester, A Williams, Davies, Taylor; Edwards, Allen, Ramsey, J Williams; Bale.

Slovakia: Kozacik; Pekarik, Skrtel, Durica, Svento; Mak, Kucka, Hrosovsky, Hamsik, Weiss; Duris.

Wales’ game is followed by England vs. Russia (8pm BST kick off), where five Liverpool players are in contention to start for Roy Hodgson’s side.
