Liverpool edged to a 1-0 over Blackburn in the FA Cup quarter-final replay on Wednesday evening, and we round-up the best reaction on social media.
After two woeful results against Man United and Arsenal, the Reds responded with a deserved win against a stubborn Blackburn side.
The pitch made Liverpool’s passing game extremely hard to perfect, but Philippe Coutinho‘s well-taken goal with 20 minutes remaining proved to be the difference between the two sides.
It was yet another hard-fought cup triumph against lower league opposition, after similarly tricky ties against AFC Wimbledon and Bolton, but Brendan Rodgers’ men easily did enough on the night to merit the win.
Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa side now stand between Liverpool and a place in the FA Cup final, with the semi-final showdown taking place at Wembley on 19th April.
Here is how Liverpool fans and celebrities reacted to the game:
#LFC are Wembley bound. Coutinho's strike books FA Cup semi-final with Aston Villa on April 19.

Doesn't matter how you get through in the FA Cup as long as you get through. A second domestic semi final for Liverpool this season.

For the first time, Lovren looked like the defender we thought we were getting. Calm & composed – more please! #LFC.

‘Dublin_Kopite’ on the forums:
That was fairly comfortable without battering them. Was like winning every round on points while keeping them at distance with the jab all night. Control possession without any lapse in concentration whilst missing key players.
Deserved win, if a little nervy at times. If the 'keeper had scored at the end we may as well all have gone home. Semis here we come.

‘Hope in your heart’ on the forums:
Blackburn defended well, but we made it hard for ourselves towards the end by not taking our chances after the first goal. Still, the job is done, and it was never going to be a stroll in the park with that pitch. Looking very much forward to Wembley!!!

If we win the FA Cup, Mrs. Mignolet gets to lift the trophy first.

‘norwegian wood’ on the forums:
All in all a well deserved win. They created some situations through their aerial threat, but we were always in control. Kept the ball quite well, created chances, pressed well when we lost the ball, and also handled Gestede well.
Lucas dropped down to take the first challenge, which allowed the centre backs to focus on the second ball.We needed this. A loss today would pretty much have ended our season. Should be a good semi-final.

Back 4 inc Toure, Lovren & Glen keeps a clean sheet, Phil scores a lovely goal & #lfc proceed at expense of laughable refereeing. #WTRWWAW

When was the last time a team won the FA Cup without winning a home game? Liverpool might do that this season…

Massive result for Lfc. Well done Mignolet! Sterling & Coutinho gave the attack the penetration it needed 2nd half.
