Liverpool’s Borini interest confirmed

H&A -  Fabio Borini, Stefano Okaka, Marco Ruffatti da Francesca's Secret KitchenRoma have confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Fabio Borini and the player’s representative has said to expect more news in the coming days, as the Italian forward looks set to become Brendan Rodgers’ first signing at Anfield.

Borini, 21, worked with Rodgers at both Chelsea and Swansea and was part of Italy’s squad at Euro 2012. The fee for him is reported to be around £8m.

Borini’s representative Marco De Marchi told Italian radio station Radio Radio:

“Roma has informed us of Liverpool’s interest in the boy. Now it’s up to Fabio to have his say. Would the player want to go to Liverpool? Honestly, I don’t want to commit myself as there will be more news in the coming days. Wait for that.”

Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini said:

“There is a real interest shown by Liverpool for Borini. We are evaluating the situation with (Roma general manager) Franco (Baldini).”

A deal for Borini is expected to be completed this week so that he can travel with the rest of the squad on the North America tour.
