Aquilani wanted by Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are the latest to be linked with midfielder Alberto Aquilani, according to reports in the Turkish press.

Meanwhile, AC Milan – where the Italian spent last season on loan – remain interested in signing Aquilani on a permanent deal.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said: “Before August 31, another midfielder will arrive, it could be Aquilani or somebody else.

“We haven’t spoken yet to Aquilani. He is a Liverpool player.”

The Serie A side need midfield replacements with veterans Clarence Seedorf, Gennaro Gattuso and Mathieu Flamini all out of contract this summer.

Fenerbache are seeking a replacement for Emre Belözo?lu who is heading to Atletico Madrid.

Aquilani has spent the last two seasons on loan – at Juventus and AC Milan, having failed to establish himself at Anfield following a £16m move from Roma in 2010. He has two years left on his contract and reports have suggested he was looking to be released from his contract at Liverpool.
