Glen Johnson has been forced to withdraw from the England squad to face Holland in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday night with a slight knock.
Johnson joined his international teammates after Sunday’s Carling Cup Final win over Cardiff City, but has now returned to Merseyside to recover.
It is understood that Johnson’s injury isn’t too serious and his withdrawal from the England squad is believed to be simply a precaution.
Liverpool hope he will be fit in time to face Arsenal in Saturday’s crunch Premier League encounter at Anfield.
