Having returned to pre-season training last week, Liverpool travel to Switzerland for their summer training camp and face FC St. Gallen in their first friendly.
Rafa Benitez will have a full squad with him, excluding the participants of the Confederations Cup; Spanish quartet Reina, Arbeloa, Alonso and Riera and Italian left back Dossena.
New signing Glen Johnson is unveiled at Anfield on Thursday and will travel with his new team mates.
Johnson is yet to be joined by any other new faces in the Reds squad, although Benitez has indicated youngsters Dani Pacheco, Mikel San Jose, Daniel Ayala, Krisztian Nemeth, Peter Gulacsi and Martin Kelly. “They are now training with the first team squad and this is their chance to show what they can do ahead of the new season,” said the boss. While Stephen Darby and Jay Spearing signed new deals this summer and will be involved too.
St. Gallen’s AFG Arena opened in 2008 and has a capacity of 20,000. Kick off is 7pm.
