Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez refused questions by Thai journalists as to the future of Xabi Alonso, adid speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.
The Reds arrived in Bangkok, Thailand this morning to begin their mini-tour of South East Asia in which they will play two friendlies against Thailand and Singapore.
Alonso has travelled with the squad and Benitez told reporters he expects the Spanish midfielder to play a part in the pre-season preparations, just like any other player.
“He is here with us and he will be available for the games,” said Benitez. “The Spanish players and Dossena and Mascherano arrived back late because of the Confederations Cup and internationals, so they will probably not play as much as the other players.”
“He is here with us this week, he can enjoy the games, the weather and the journalists.”
