Reds make £20million move for Lavezzi

Liverpool have made a £20million offer for Napoli’s Agentine striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to the player’s agent.

The 24-year-old has been strongly tipped to leave the Serie A club after writing an open letter to the fans last week saying he had been treated with disrespect by club officials over his contract.

The Reds are thought to be in a race with Manchester City to sign Lavezzi, with his agent, Eduardo Rossetto, today confirming, “There is a definite proposal from Liverpool.

“The one thing I can say, that so far I have kept confidential, is that Pierpaolo Marino met twice with the FIFA agent Pablo Cosentino, who invited him to set a meeting in either Liverpool or Naples with the British club.”

Speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Rossetto added that no official communication has been made between his player and Liverpool yet as they await Napoli’s decision on the offer.
