Gerrard confident title is near

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has joined Dirk Kuyt in declaring that is must only be a matter of time before the Reds get their hands on the Premier League trophy.

Gerrard knows that the team will give their all to win it this season, but with only three games remaining a slip-up from Manchester United is necessary. However, he says if they don’t win it this season, the title won’t a long-time coming.

He said, ‘œI believe I’ll get my hands on it. If I said, ‘˜I don’t think we’re going to win it,’ what would be the point of carrying on? We’re so, so close to doing it this season, I believe we can still nick it. But if we don’t and United close it out, we’re going to have a right good go at it over the next three, four or five years and I believe we’re too good not to win it.

‘œThere have been too many draws at Anfield for our liking,’ he said. ‘œWe need to be more ruthless at home.’
