Spanish Reds in action today

Liverpool’s Spanish contingent are in action today for their country in the FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.

Spain opened their Confederations Cup campaign with an impressive and overwhelming 5-0 thrashing of New Zealand on Sunday night with Fernando Torres bagging a hat-trick.

Torres struck three times within the first twenty minutes of the game to melt the Kiwis and was later given a standing ovations when he was substituted.

    Fellow Reds Xabi Alonso and Albert Riera also started for Spain on Sunday, with Pepe Reina and Alvaro Arbeloa named on the bench.
