Reds heading to Spain in pre-season

Liverpool will return to Spain for a pre-season friendly this summer. Rafa Benitez side played Villareal last summer and will travel to Catalonia to face Espanyol in early August.

The Spanish side report the match will take place on August 2nd to open their new 40,000 seater Cornella-El Prat stadium.

The match will mean an opportunity for a trip to Barcelona for traveling Reds.

Liverpool have already announced plans for a pre-season tour of Asia, taking in Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong in July. Those plans are yet to be confirmed but it’s a far cry from last year when plans for pre-season weren’t revealed until well after the League season had ended.
