Liverpool travel to the San Siro for the return leg of their Champions League last 16 clash against the Italian champions Inter Milan. The Reds take a 2-0 lead with them after goals from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard gave Rafa Benitez’s side an impressive win at Anfield almost three weeks ago.
Benitez will hope to have Javier Mascherano available after he suffered a dead leg against West Ham last week which meant him missing the 3-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday. Ryan Babel could come back into the team, although a more cautious approach may be adopted with Riise playing in front of Aurelio on the left side.
Carragher, Hyypia and Skrtel are competing for the two centre back positions, with Carragher and Hyypia’s experience likely to see them paired together.
Inter must score three goals on the night – one away goal for the Reds and the Italians would need to score four.
