Liverpool have been dealt a boost with the news that Alberto Aquilani’s troublesome ankle injury has fully healed and the player is “looking very sharp” according to the club’s new Head of Sports Science and Medicine.
Peter Brukner says that he is very hopeful that Aquilani will have little or no problems with the injury that saw him stall the start of his career at Liverpool since signing from Roma for £18million last summer.
Burkner told LFC Weekly magazine, “Alberto’s ankle, which was a problem last year, is now 100% healed.
“He has been training and has looked very sharp. He’ll have to keep working on his injury prevention programme and if he does, I’m sure the supporters will see the best of him because last season was very frustrating for him injury-wise.”
