Trabzonspor ready to match £5 million asking price for Lucas Leiva – reports

Rumours continue to swirl around Lucas Leiva‘s future and the latest updates suggest he could be set for a move to Turkey.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas isn’t a first-choice at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp, and faces another summer of uncertainty as the manager reshapes his squad for an assault on the Champions League.

It’s nothing new for Lucas, though, who has continually battled back from seemingly being on the verge of an Anfield exit, to play a role the following campaign.

The latest reports come from Turkish news source Fotomac (via Mirror), who suggest Trabzonspor will meet the Reds’ £5 million asking price.

Wages may yet be a preventative obstacle for the deal, the report further concludes.

Lucas has often been linked with a move to the SuperLig in Turkey, as well as a potential return to former club Gremio.

The 30-year-old has more than once turned around seemingly dire situations during his time as a Liverpool player, though, and after finishing last season strongly, few would bet against him remaining involved once again for 2017/18.
