Jurgen Klopp has named a strong starting lineup for Liverpool’s Wembley Stadium clash with Barcelona on Saturday evening.
The Reds take on Luis Enrique’s La Liga side in the penultimate outing of a busy pre-season, and the third of three clashes in the International Champions Cup.
With this providing the biggest test of his side’s credentials heading into 2016/17, Klopp has named a formidable starting lineup, including Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Due to injury to summer goalkeeper signing Loris Karius, Simon Mignolet takes up his place in goal, behind a back four of Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and James Milner.
In midfield, Wijnaldum is joined by Emre Can, in what looks set to be a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Firmino leads the line in attack, supported by Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane.
Daniel Sturridge misses out due to a hip problem, leaving Divock Origi and Danny Ings as Klopp’s attacking reserves.
Joining Origi and Ings on the bench are Marko Grujic and Joel Matip, who both return from injury.
Alex Manninger, Alberto Moreno, Andre Wisdom, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Connor Randall, Kevin Stewart, Jordan Henderson, Cameron Brannagan and Lazar Markovic make up the rest of the bench.
Brannagan is set to seal a season-long loan move to Wigan Athletic in the coming days, with this outing likely his last for the Reds until next summer.
