Rumour Mill: Liverpool scouting Marseille winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou

Reports on Sunday evening suggest Liverpool are eyeing up a potential move for Marseille winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.

According to the Guardian, the Reds are one of several Premier League sides who sent scouts to watch the highly rated 20-year-old play against Lyon on Sunday.

Man United and West Ham are the other clubs who are believed to have had representatives in France.

N’Koudou is enjoying an impressive season in Ligue 1, despite his side’s struggles in 2015/16, scoring eight goals and producing four assists to date.

The France Under-21 international is already worth far more than the £1 million Marseille paid Nantes for his services last summer, and although they would be reluctant to sell, anything in the region of £15 million is said to be likely see their heads turned.

Bringing in a new winger is of definite importance to Jurgen Klopp, with a complete lack of depth in that area currently.

Jordon Ibe is genuinely the only current player who can really be considered an out-and-out wide man, and he remains a work in progress.

Liverpool lack pace and dynamism in wide attacking areas, and although N’Koulou is also still raw, he would bring some much-needed extra quality there.

However, with Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo now having returned and likely coveting a first-team role in the near future, whether Klopp needs to add another youngster on the flanks is questionable.

But with Reds scouts reportedly tracking a number of wingers already this season, Klopp has clearly made this a priority for the summer.
