It was announced on Monday that the England Under-21 striker would be heading to Anfield once his contract with the Clarets expires at the end of the month.

Ings scored 11 goals in 35 appearances in his maiden season in the top flight and once Burnley were relegated, his departure was inevitable.

But he tweeted his thanks to the Turf Moor club on Tuesday night before outlining his excitement to be heading to Merseyside.

Burnley paid tribute to the departing striker with the video above and the hashtag #ThankYouDanny.

Reports on Tuesday suggested that Liverpool may have to pay “up to £7 million” for Ings, despite coming to the end of his Burnley contract.
