The Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe claims Henderson and Liverpool have agreed a £100,000-a-week deal that will see the England international stay at Anfield until the summer of 2020.

The Daily Mail‘s Dominic King also reports the news, which comes with 14 months remaining on Henderson’s current deal at Anfield.

If true, the news would come as a great boost to the Reds after disappointedly being beaten in their FA Cup semi-final to the hands of Aston Villa on Sunday, prompting much discussion over the current direction of the club.

There had been growing concerns over Henderson’s future with Liverpool struggling to tie up new deals for him, Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan. Sterling’s contract will be discussed again at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is currently enjoying his fourth season on Merseyside, having made 180 appearances since his move from Sunderland in 2011.

According to Press Association Sport, Liverpool have so far declined to comment on the reports.
