Rumours and speculation surround Luis Suarez today.

Luis Suarez’s agent has moved quickly to calm down a media frenzy that has occurred as a result of comments by the Liverpool forward which hinted he was looking for a move to Real Madrid.

Suarez told Radio Sport 890 in his homeland, that he was “not prepared to continue suffering at the hands of the English journalists”.

Amid speculation linking him with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, he said, “It would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid.”

This caused a surge of speculation on the internet and in papers around the world with several media outlets suggesting the 26-year-old had signed a four year contract with the La Liga outfit.

Journalists screamed with excitement further when Real president Florentino Perez added fuel to the fire, confirming the Uruguayan was strongly admired at the Bernabeu.

He told Spanish sports newspaper Marca, “Suarez is a great player and I am sure all in the world would want him. I like him and others too.”

But Suarez’s agent, Pere Guardiola, told Sky Sports earlier today that although the quotes to the Radio Sport 890 were correct, Suarez has no plans to leave Liverpool this summer.

Suarez has scored 51 goals in 96 appearances for Liverpool since signing from Ajax in January 2011.

He will miss the first six matches of the new Premier League season, completing his 10 match ban for biting Chelsea‘s Branislav Ivanovic last month.
