Liverpool confirm they will visit Indonesia this summer

Liverpool Football Club have made the final arrnagements for their pre-season friendly in Indonesia, it was confirmed today.

The Reds will an Indonesian X1 in Jakarta on Saturday, 20th July 2013 as they look to promote the LFC brand further afield, with Australia and South Africa also on the map this summer.

Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre said of the game, “We last went to Asia in 2011 but this will be the Club’s very first visit to Indonesia and it’s fantastic that it ties into Standard Chartered’s 150th anniversary there.

“This is an important visit for Liverpool FC as it is part of a wider fan-engagement programme that we are currently working on.”

Tickets for the game go on sale on Saturday 11th May on the ticket website, www.myticket.co.id.

Reds striker Luis Suarez would be eligable to play in the friendly, despite his 10-match ban for biting, however, he is likely to miss the trip due to his participation in the FIFA Confederations Cup a few weeks earlier.

Whilst in South East Asia, the players and club will undergo several commercial activities with main club sponsor Standard Chartered to boost the fanbase in that part of the world.
