PSG declare interest in Luis Suarez

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Liverpool forward Luis Suarez this summer.

The French club are owned by Qatar Sports Investment and have been investing heavily in the playing squad and recently appointing Carlo Ancelotti as manager.

Speaking to French magazine ExtraTime, Al Khelaifi said “We have clear targets in mind. It is true that we want Luis Suarez”

He also said they are interested in Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain, adding “Our real short-term targets are to win the Champions League and find a new Messi.”

Suarez arrived at Liverpool from Ajax for £22m in January 2011. He is understood to be happy at the Anfield club and any move away from Merseyside will be strongly contested by manager Kenny Dalglish and principal owner John W. Henry who see the Uruguayan as a key part of the club’s future.
